Podcasting with GarageBand 3 (Macintosh)

Podcasts are audio files that can be downloaded over the Internet and listened to with an audio software application (such as iTunes or QuickTime) or played on a portable MP3 player (such as an iPod). Podcasts can be downloaded one episode at a time or subscribed to so that an entire series of podcasts can be automatically downloaded to a computer or synced to an iPod. GarageBand 3, within the iLife ’06 series, has been specially re-designed to encompass the needs of podcasters. GarageBand 3 is a great tool for creating regular podcasts or enhanced podcasts (i.e., podcasts containing images and URLs as well as audio). This workshop will cover recording narration and adding speech enhancers for your voice audio track; adding musical background tracks, jingles, and sound effects; mixing your podcast for final output as an .aif or .mp3 file to iTunes; and a short demonstration of the steps involved in creating an enhanced podcast.
